I will be at least for a while, out of necessity. Once I leave for Disney in August, my Nana will be living alone, which nobody really wants. So she’s decided she’s probably going to move to Australia to live with my mum, which means at some point after I leave she’ll be selling her house, so I have to do something with all my stuff. It was either put it in a storage unit or ship it to my mum, and being that I’ll probably have no money and no house to come back to in New Zealand next year, it makes more sense to just move everything to Australia.
I’m not sure I’ll want to live there permanently, but that’s the plan for now. It’s a bit daunting tbh but at least I know Australia well enough that it’s not like coming back to an unfamiliar place.
Right?? I can kinda remember that Sarah, Beth and Alison are the same actress, but Cosima and Helena get me every time. And Canadian television really is the best. Plus “spot the actor from other Canadian shows” is too much fun.
Yeah, Sarah and Alison aren’t too wildly different (I feel like one or both of them would smack me for saying that lmao) but Cosima and Helena definitely are. Especially Cosima; I don’t know what it is, everything about her just changes as that character that it’s like wait okay how is this the same person. AND YES I noticed the actress who plays Aife on Lost Girl is in it, it’s interesting to see her in a more.. subdued role, haha.

I just watched an interview with the lead actress where she described it as “guns, clones, mystery and cool stuff,” so.. that? Hahaha.
No but the basic premise is that the lead character, Sarah, is at the train station when she witnesses a woman who looks exactly like her jump in front of a train. So she steals the purse the woman left behind to try to find out who she is and why they look exactly alike, and kind of finds herself in the middle of a very confusing and ~mysterious~ situation. She ends up assuming the identity of the dead woman in an attempt to get answers and finds out there are more “genetic identicals” (they’re all a bit creeped out by the word clone) and.. I can’t really say more without giving away plot points, but basically they’re all trying to figure out what the fuck is going on while also dealing with life stuff, and OH GOD WHO LET ME TRY TO SELL A SHOW I’M SO BAD AT IT JUST WATCH THE FIRST EPISODE YOU’LL LOVE IT IT’S AMAZING I PROMISE.

It absolutely consumed my dash so I was like, okay Tumblr, we’ve been down this road before, I’ll just watch it now before there are a thousand seasons to catch up on. AND I LOVE IT. It’s so well done, and Tatiana Maslany just kills it. It’s so easy to forget one person is playing all these characters.

I tell you what though, I’m excited to try all the vegetarian things they have in America. I know there’s a MUCH wider selection of stuff in supermarkets there, whereas here it’s very limited, even compared to Australia. So hopefully it won’t be all bad!
I’m a bit afraid Katherine is gonna attempt to become a vampire again and when she kills herself to do so she won’t wake up because you can’t become supernatural twice or something idk. I’m just mad she won’t be able to be as badass.
Yeah, I was thinking about that; can someone become a vampire again after taking the cure? I guess we’ll find out. But, wow, that are just so many opportunities for this to be terrible. I’m sure plenty of people will use it as a way to treat her like shit/threaten her which I just don’t want to watch?
I really hope they don’t attempt a redemption thing either because the idea of Katherine deciding this is a second chance and that she wants to be a good little human and live out her life normally somewhere would just ignore everything she’s done and been through. After being on the run for 500 years, crafting herself into a survivor above all, can you imagine Katherine Pierce trying to fit in as a human anywhere? I can’t.
I saw someone else mention that Klaus now has another doppelganger he can use to make hybrids, and the idea of them bringing back that storyline also sounds awful, but given that The Originals is happening I don’t think that’s the direction they’ll go in. Whatever they do I just don’t think this really makes any sense in the current narrative or even for the character and I have very deep doubts that they’ll be able to take it somewhere good.

Oh no I would NOT recommend it to you then! The culinary thing, with pretty presentation and loving close ups of the ~fancy food preparation are basically nonstop. It’s such a shame bc it’s an A++++ show imo, but I understand the squick factor.
ACK see this is what I was afraid of. I get the impression all the food preparation scenes are quite long. BUT previous testimonies have said it’s bearable in this show so I want to try to get through the first episode because I’ve heard nothing but rave reviews. If I throw up you get to say I told you so.
