#sometimes this fandom honestly worries me #I am worried for the way you treat your main female character #you can ship Elena with whoever you want #you can ship Elena with EVERYONE #but there is something extremely wrong when you ship her with someone and hate her #or get mad because she’s not with the person you want #it takes two consenting people to be in a relationship #what is your mindset #please do not treat people in real life like property as you do with your tv characters #you have the right to dislike her #but she is as much of a person as everyone else on this show #just a small reminder that Elena is not a piece of meat #or as many like to say #a slut/whore/undeserving/ or a bitch #and if she was #power to her #there are times where I want to only be a member of the original fandom #but I care about all the other characters too much #Elena Gilbert #the vampire diaries #degrading fandom bullshit

#all of this #sometimes I think certain parts of the fandom forget that Elena has PERSONAL AGENCY #I see a lot of 'this person deserves Elena more than this other person because he did x which proves he cares about her/whatever' #and it's like okay #but what about what ELENA wants? #she does not exist on the show to simply be with Stefan or Damon or whoever #there is obviously nothing wrong with shipping two people #but the way it's spoken about sometimes is worrying #look I'm not even a huge Elena fan; I don't particularly relate to her #I don't dislike her but I don't adore her either #but despite that I'd never talk about her the way some of the fandom talks about her #because she's a goddamn teenage girl who's lost a lot of people close to her and had a lot of scary confusing shit happen #AND IF SHE MAKES MISTAKES #or does things you don't like #or bounces back and forth between Stefan and Damon because she's afraid of losing either of them #OR WHATEVER #just remember she's a PERSON #OKAY #Elena Gilbert #The Vampire Diaries
